This, the second album by the Eels, was written by Mark Oliver Everitt (E), he wrote this album at a time when his sister committed suicide and his mother died of lung cancer. As you can imagine this is a pretty heavy listen, but it never gets depressing. E is a story teller of the highest order and out of something terrible he has made an album that unique and intriguing. A very special record.
