A great album of electronic indie pop from a few years back, features Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie fame on vocals. The is a beautiful and easy listen. RYM - 3.71/5
The debut album from UK band Elbow. They recently made headlines for winning the 08 mercury music prize for the album "The Seldom Seen Kid". This album is literally 10 times better than that record. If you haven't heard it then check it out.
A hugely influential and progressive album from earlier this decade, Maudlin of the Well fuse progressive, metal, jazz, indie and post rock to create an avant garde album of the highest order. A band reformation and new album is on the cards for later this year... watch this space.
The first album from Kayo Dot, a band that rose from the ashes of Maudlin Of The Well. This isn't for everybody, but those with an open ear and some patience are in for a special listening experience.
A modern day hip hop classic, the collaboration between MF Doom & Madlib. Short tracks, no choruses and completely unplayable on radio, but this album is an epic win.
The third album by The Queens, just pips "Rated R" as their best album, not a bad track on here, and some great contributions from Dave Grohl and Mark Lanegan.
Wasn't quite as succesful as his debut a few years earlier but still a damn fine record. It had me hooked from the start and I can still listen to it as whole 5 years later and marvel at Mike Skinner's brilliance.
