Elliott Smith - Either/Or (1997)

This is probably the defining album in Elliott Smith's enigmatic and brilliant short career. He is just a great story teller.

Elbow - Asleep In The Back (2001)

The debut album from UK band Elbow. They recently made headlines for winning the 08 mercury music prize for the album "The Seldom Seen Kid". This album is literally 10 times better than that record. If you haven't heard it then check it out.

Antony and The Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now (2005)

This album won the 05 mercury music prize and for good reason, it's a beautiful pop album. Antony shows why he is the worlds most amazing vocalist.

RYM - 3.76/5

Silverchair - Neon Ballroom (1999)

One of the most amazing Australian albums of the past decade, Daniel Johns really started to fill out his potential as a song writer on this record.

Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans (2004)

Sufjan's fourth studio album and the album from whick I discovered him. Doesn't quite reach the heights of it's follow up "Illinoise" but it's still a brilliant indie release.

RYM - 3.84/5

The perfect band follow up the perfect debut album with the perfect second album... PERFECT!

B. Fleischmann - The Humbucking Coil (2006)

Some really beautiful and lush ambient/electronic music for you here, B. Fleischmann released this album in 06 to little acclaim but it really struck a chord with me, his released the follow up late last year but I reckon it was pretty bad.
